3M Ear Plugs

Some veterans and military service members have suffered from tinnitus and hearing loss injuries caused from the use of defective 3M Combat Arms Earplugs.

CPAP

Some patients have received a cancer diagnosis or have been treated for respiratory failure, as well as other types of organ damage/disease, after using some CPAP devices for a year or more.

Exactech Knee and Ankle Polyethylene Inserts

Exactech has recalled some knee and ankle polyethylene inserts as a result of premature wear of the devices. These failures have caused severe pain or swelling at the knee or ankle, limited mobility, compromised ability to bear weight and osteolysis. Some cases have necessitated revision due to polyethylene liner wear or osteolysis.

Hip Implants

Some patients who have received hip implants have suffered severe pain and complicated injuries or symptoms of metallosis resulting from faulty or defective hip implants.

Nurse Assist Saline Flush Syringes

Some patients who have used or been treated with Nurse Assist Saline Flush Syringe kits have required hospitalization or even suffered fatal complications due to bloodstream infection/bacteremia or sepsis caused by Burkholderia cepacia bacteria.

Penumbra Jet 7 Xtra Flex Catheter

Penumbra issued a voluntary recall for more than 22,600 Jet 7 Xtra Flex Catheters after reports of blood clot removal procedures. Some of these complications resulted in serious injury and even death.

Drugs

Benzocaine

Some people have received a diagnosis of methemoglobinemia, resulting in hospitalization and in some cases even death, following the administration or Orajel or another benzocaine-based oral pain medication.

Elmiron

The American Academy of Ophthalmology shared results linking maculopathy, a vision-threatening eye condition, to prolonged use of this bladder drug.

Belviq

The U.S. Food & Drug Administration (FDA) recalled the weight-loss drugs Belviq RX and Belviq (lorcaserin) because of an increased risk of users developing cancer.

Zantac

Camp Lejeune

People who lived or worked at Camp Lejeune for a period of at least 30 cumulative days sometime between August 1, 1953 and December 31, 1987 and have been diagnosed with cancer or suffering from other serious diseases may be eligible for compensation. This includes people who were in utero while their mother lived or worked at Camp Lejeune during that time.
