Pedestrian Kaycie Kidwell killed in Hit and Run Accident

Livingston Parish, LA (September 21, 2018)- On Wednesday of this week, an unidentified driver struck a Baton Rouge woman before leaving the scene of the accident.

The hit-and-run took place south of Interstate 12, in Livingston Parish, at around 3am. According to authorities, 33-year-old Kaycie Kidwell was along Louisiana highway 447 when she was hit by the suspected vehicle. She died from her injuries.

LSP Trooper 1st Class Bryan Lee says investigating officers discovered her body later that morning near Hammack Road.

Louisiana State Police are still investigating what may have caused the driver to hit Kidwell. They plan to release more information as it becomes available. Based on some of the evidence they have gathered from the site of the accident, officers believe the vehicle in question was red in color and may have sustained some damage to the body of the vehicle upon striking Kidwell.
