New Orleans Driver Hit Man with Vehicle, Attempts to Hide His Car
New Orleans (September 28, 2018)- A driver hit a man with his car, then fled and hid his vehicle.
The driver, Christopher G. Hamilton, aged 36, was arrested for negligent homicide. Authorities identified the pedestrian as John Cody, aged 50.
The incident happened late, near the 2000 block of Poydras Street. The impact was near the on-ramp to westbound Interstate 10. John Cody died at the hospital the next day.
An investigation revealed that the man, originally booked for a hit-and-run, knew he hit a person. Following impact, he drove to a vacant lot and parked, removing the license plate.
At Mike Brander Injury Attorneys, we would like to commend authorities for their thorough investigation and also share our deepest sympathies with the family of the man wrongfully killed.
